1. What are you reading right now?
I’m still on Oryx and Crake. I had an accidental nap for a few hours in the beginning of the event, but that means I will stay awake longer. For the past 6 hours I’ve been reading nonstop, barely stopping for eating.
2. How many books have you read so far?
On my first read still, but it has been a lot of pages and I feel I have accomplished something. I think the book I’m reading actually is better when reading all at once.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Oh, I still don’t know. I know I will pick one of the shorter reads after this one just to have the feeling of accomplishment, but I probably look more forward to reading the other once. It’s hard to decide and I will probably choose books for tactical reasons, such as ”I know Dan Brown usually keeps me hooked”, than ”I’ve always wanted to read Dreams About Read Chambers” (a chunky Chinese classic).
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
I had the accidental napping interruption at hour 3 to hour 6. It caught me off guard since it was at the middle of the day and I didn’t know I was tired, thus letting myself read from the bed.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
Still, the accidental napping. Though, I’m surprised that I’ve been able to read for more than 6 hours straight without interruptions and really get in to the story. It’s amazing!
